There have been reports over the past few days that Pokemon Go is already declining, so we decided to go back to the same network that we initially looked at to see if this was the case. As a reminder, this is a European mobile network.
Here is the enagement over time on the network that also shows the network quality - which has been consistent except for the well publicized DDOS attack:
As you can see from the graph directly above, the number of subscribers using the application on a daily basis is going down. How might that trend continue? If we extrapolate:
Not that these declining usage trends are usually straight lines, this definitely sounds an alarm for Niantic. The most successful mobile games find ways to evolve their play and keep subscribers engage. We will keep a watch and see if this Pokemon Go trend continues.
