You heard in the conclusions to the presentation, that YES!, DPI is disruptive since it enables change through a brand new approach to network traffic intelligence that has not been seen before. I’d say that the only reason it’s still disruptive, is because change takes time. But DPI has matured substantially from being a new technology solving an urgent issue, to being a business critical component in next generation networks. DPI has been going through a transition to become Evolved DPI. While still being controversial due to the public Net Neutrality discussion, this label fades away as DPI becomes mainstream.
