Higher Education Keeps Moving to Procera Networks

More than 30 Universities Select PacketLogic in Q2 2010

LOS GATOS, Calif., August 17, 2010 – Procera® Networks Inc. (NYSE Amex: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today reported that its industry-leading PacketLogicTM family of products continue to gain traction as the preferred network traffic management solution for higher education institutions worldwide resulting in new customer wins with 31 universities in the second quarter of 2010. These new university customers include Bowling Green University, IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Keene State University and Union University in the US, along with Chosun University in Korea, BOKU - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Austria, and UCSJ - University College Sealand in Denmark.

“Our recently introduced PacketLogic PL8720 further strengthens our position in the university space with its 10-gig capacity and exceptional cost-performance ratio,” said Jon Lindén, Procera's vice president of global marketing. “This advanced solution delivers on the unique requirements universities have while enabling instant return on investment. Our extensive experience with deployments to service providers and universities strongly positions Procera as a credible partner that offers significant value to these customers.”

Though all unique, universities share a common need to accurately manage and control their network traffic in order to maximize the utilization and the life-time of the network. These and other university networks around the world act as service providers that support multiple applications and users, from academic research to leisure traffic. They deploy PacketLogic to prioritize critical applications, limit bandwidth for recreational use during peak hours, and gain granular insight into network activity for forensics, allowing better use of the network and early identification and isolation of potential threats and misbehavior.

Procera Networks will exhibit at the 2010 EDUCAUSE Conference for higher education information technology, taking place October 13-15, 2010 in Anaheim, California. You can meet Procera representatives at Booth #830.
