LOS GATOS, CA (MARKET WIRE) Procera® Networks, Inc. ( Nsight Telservices is a telecommunications convergence company that provides wireless, Internet, long distance, tower maintenance, cable TV and landline telephone service across a wide area of Eastern Wisconsin. Nsight Telservices and its sister companies provide Internet service to Nsight Telservices' core service area as well as to five regional independent telephone companies in the surrounding area. Procera's PacketLogic allows Nsight Telservices to offer its business customers a range of bandwidth capacities -- from 1 Mbps to 20 Mbps -- to fit their companies' needs, and is also used within Nsight Telservices' corporate network to identify violations such as peer-to-peer use, video downloading and other non-business activities. Nsight Telservices is considering offering its customers value-added services via PacketLogic such as custom usage reports or identification of flaws in their internal network configurations. Recently, PacketLogic assisted Nsight Telservices in recovering a hijacked network for an educational-institution customer. "Our customer complained of low throughput over their 1 Mbps connection, and through PacketLogic we were able to confirm that someone external to the school had compromised their servers and was using them as a file repository," said Gary Hoglund, data product specialist for Nsight Telservices. "We helped the customer reconfigure their network and add a firewall, eliminating the problem. Without PacketLogic, we would not have been able to see into their network at that level and identify the true source of the problem." "Nsight Telservices' experience is a great illustration of the visibility and control that PacketLogic provides for broadband service providers," said Albert Lopez, vice president of worldwide marketing for Procera Networks. "Through PacketLogic, service providers, higher-education institutions and other large network operators can manage their networks more accurately and efficiently, and improve customer satisfaction." The PacketLogic product family includes the PL5600, PL7600, PL7620 and PL9200 models, which range from 4 Mbps to 2.5 Gbps bidirectional throughput capacity. The modular software design includes Surveillance (standard in all PacketLogic systems), Filtering, Traffic Shaping, and Statistics options. Procera also offers an option for compliance with the technical assistance requirements of lawful-intercept regulations such as CALEA in the U.S. About Procera Networks
