The PL7810 is ideal for broadband customers deploying traffic management at peering points or in their access network for distributed deployments as well as higher education and enterprise networks at the WAN connection point. The PL7810’s small form factor and low power requirements make it easily deployable in a decentralized access deployment than larger, more expensive chassis-based systems. The PL7810 is Procera's 5 Gbps compact, easy-to deploy entry level Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) platform. The compact 1RU PL7810 is designed for customers that are rapidly growing their network bandwidth and want a system that can be software upgraded to support their growing bandwidth needs. The system can simply grow capacity with software licenses, from just a few megabits of capacity up to full 5 Gbps of capacity. Three fixed 1 Gbps Ethernet channels are supported in the base system, with two slots available for 1 Gbps Copper or Fiber channel interface expansion. The expansion interfaces have built-in hardware support for bypass to simplify network redundancy.
