The PL1421 and PL1422 are the high-end PacketLogic™ Intelligent Center (PIC) platform models based on an industry standard, highly reliable server and storage hardware architecture. Both of these PIC platforms come with high availability and carrier-grade reliability and consist of two components — the PL1421 / PL1422 Control Node (CN) and the PL1420 Storage Node (SN). Multiple SNs can be connected to each CN, which enables carrier- class scalability for collection of hundreds of millions of statistics items. A single CN supports up to 4 SNs when fully configured to maximize storage capacity for long term storage of statistics gathered for business intelligence. Both of the CN platforms inter operate with all PacketLogic Real-time Enforcement (PRE) platform models, with the ability to connect to multiple PRE platforms from a single PL1421 or PL1422.
