 PL1400 is the high-end PacketLogic Statistics
server (PLS) in the PacketLogic line of products. Based on Sun
Microsystems’ reliable server and storage hardware, the PL1400 comes
with high availability and carrier-grade reliability. PL1400 enables
Statistics scalability on par with the carrier-grade PL10000, but also
supports the PL7000 series (PL7720) of PacketLogic platforms. Traffic
statistics from one or multiple PacketLogics can be aggregated to one
PL1400.The PL1400 consists of two components – the PL1400 Control Node (CN) and the PL1400 Storage Node (SN). Both are 19” rack-mounted appliances with a 1RU (CN) and 2RU (SN) form factor. On to four (1-4) SNs can be connected to each CN. Each SN holds 12 hard drives offering an astonishing 3.6 TB of raw storage capacity per SN. The PL1400 is either connected directly to the in-line PacketLogic (PLR) or remotely over a Layer 2 or 3 domain. PL1400 is also suitable as the centralized data repository where statistics summaries are stored for quick response times even when doing network-wide queries of multimillion subscriber networks. |
