Procera offers a complete selection of hardware platforms from the entry-level 4 Mbps PL5600 through 2 Gbps PL7720. The mid-range PL8720 is a 2RU unit with up to 10Gbps throughput. At the top of the line is the high-end PL10000 series with capacity up to 80Gbps and 5M subscribers per system. It consists of a modular AdvancedTCA (ATCA) chassis solution in two sizes – PL10005 5RU and PL10014 12RU. The use of a common firmware enables the different platforms to co-exist in the same network. This positively affects both the initial CAPEX investment since you do not have to overspend, as well as the OPEX since the user interface and feature-set is the same across all platforms. This way you can deploy a PL5600 on a backhaul from a wireless access point (AP), and a PL10000 at the aggregation point between core and edge at a large site.
